Stiffer than the old blade, the new Sunrise Glass provides the optimal balance between performance and paddler fatigue. This lightweight fiberglass shaft is selected to provide the maximum strength and optimal flex. The fiberglass shaft which is ovalized for ease of paddling provides both warmth and comfort. This Asymmetric Blade is well balanced and designed for zero torque, allowing for smooth paddling and less wrist fatigue. The Dihedral Blade shape minimizes flutter and provides an easy paddle stroke. The new Sunrise Blades are made of lightweight durable glass filled polypropylene. The fiberglass Shaft features composite ferrule providing a precision fit, thus reducing any loss of power. The composite ferrule won't seize up in sand or salt water.

I used this paddle for a 6 hour day trip and it exceeded my expectations. It has a light weight fiberglass shaft and plastic blades that can take abuse. The blades are pretty stiff too, which helps transfer your energy to the water. It's not the lightest paddle out there but is pretty light for the price you're paying. The paddle is great for those beginning paddlers or used for a low cost quality back up paddle.
